Jane and Alice

Jane Porter and Tarzan's daughter, Alice Clayton.

It is not mentioned in the Disney movie, but in the Tarzan of the Apes series by Edgar Rice Burroughs, Tarzan's real name is John Clayton. In the Disney movie, the villain, Clayton, is loosely based on William Cecil Clayton, Tarzan's cousin in the book series. That's why Alice's last name is Clayton. Not because of the villain in the Disney movie, but as a nod to Tarzan's real name in the book series.

I chose Alice as a name because it was a very plain name, like Jane and William and John and it also fit the time period. Plain names for people who went on to do extraordinary things. (Harry Potter ring any bells? )
